You need a longer track, you barely pull 2nd gear before us over.

Very true. Its not a true 1/8 mile. Its only 515 feet.
It use to be longer but they shortened it due to fast cars going into the turn.
I am still eager for a 1/4 mile run but not until its ready.

I'm as thick headed as my car. Last week I was tuning my car for Fridays race and the bolts on the torque converter to flexplate came loose. So that evening, again, the transmission comes out and basically recked the threads on the torque converter. So that next morning, back to Cascade Torque Converter for a rebuild. Finished by noon and transmission back in the car later in the day.
Raced Friday only to find out that my Transbrake was not holding me at the line. Car kept rolling backwards. TCI Racing tells me my fluid pump on the transmission is wearing out and not providing enough pressure. So, transmission has to come back out. I have a second backup tranny to put in but I may decide if I need to get a better pump.
The car ran good but u was just unable to use the Transbrake and stall converter. Times were slower.

The price of going fast. Once you get it reliable, head down to Seattle International Raceway in Kent for a 1/4 mile drag. http://pacificraceways.com/drag-strip/drag-race-schedule/

Only thing that's been reliable so far has been the KA24 and the Ford rearend. The bugs will get worked out.

Did this a few weeks ago but here's some photos of my backfire valve. Just bought a standard turbo blowoff valve. This one came with a weld on plate so it made it an easy purchase. It was adjustable from 5-25 pounds but I chose to add a another spring so its set to 25 pounds. It works great.
Still need to deal with the transbrake issue but car runs great

Like the filter mods. No restrictions there. Any issues on the road like that or strictly a track car now

I used to run the taller filters without the mod. After the mod I stayed with the tall filters but just last week I switched back to the shorter ones. As you can see I just cut out the cover and added a strong chicken wire screen with a thin mesh screen on top. That way it wouldn't get sucked in. The flow is perfect for both the street and the track. No restrictions on air flow which I need a lot of.

Picked up another project for the car. Currently running around 125hp shot of Nitrous and would like to bump it up more but wheel spin at the line is an issue. I've been looking at progressive nitrous contollers and I finally chose the Micro Storm unit. I'd like to do 175 to 200hp and this should help me get there. Looking forward to some better times.
