Can't seem to find the body number on my coupe ...

I have taken the paint to bare metal in the usual places - above the wiper motor, around and on top of the strut towers.

where is it on other coupes? .. I have the original plate with the body number on it but isn't it supposed to be stamped on the body?

Shouldn't have to strip the paint, it's very visible, deeply stamped into the body sheet metal. Left side cowl dash panel (firewall), under the bonnet.

For newbies reading this, the left side is relative to as if you're sitting in the seat. If you're standing in front of the car facing it, the left side of the car will be to your right

JDM and USDM coupes have it there, but maybe not all ADM coupes have it. Reportedly for ADM:
* stamped on the firewall AND/OR on the strut tower OR none at all (just the stamped aluminum tag)
* automatics often are missing the body stamp
* manuals usually have it
And maybe it depends on Australia-assembled (most but not all Sedans). All the coupes were Japan-assembled

and before I forget ...

Yes dp giving the Red coupe a freshen up

And appears that there's no stamp at all. Not where the ute or either sedans have theirs just on the aluminium plate.

Not to worry

Funny, but probably true. I can tell you that they would have had a lot more thrills with the 1200.

I recently finished an upgrade from dual 44 Mikunis to EFI using an ITB setup made by www.efihardware.com out of Australia. The ITB bodies are tapered bore with 48mm at the inlet, 45mm at the throttle plate, and 43mm at the intake. It uses 347 cc/min Bosch injectors. It's an A14 engine, 1494cc with a 14:1 CR (forged aluminum Wiseco pistons and chromemoly H-beam rods, Smith Brothers chrome moly pushrods. A heavily ported and ported GX head with 39mm intake and 34mm exhaust stainless steel, lightened and swirl polished valves. It runs a very high lift (0.494" total valve lift, high duration (306 degree total duration) Elgin camshaft with Titanium retainers. I use the Tilton solid disc and Tilton pressure plate combination as anything else just doesn't hold up very well to the engine's torque, a 6.5 pound chromemoly flywheel. Tranny is a 60-series 4 speed with a 63A-series 5-speed next on my to-do list. Just finished putting in a H165 rear end with the Toyota T-series dropout 4.78 gears from weir performance.
I switched to a wasted spark crank-triggered ignition from my Mallory dual point mechanical and MSD setup. The fuel and ignition is controlled by a Megasquirt II MS ECU. It's a sweet little setup, but not your daily driver that's for sure.
