Just curious, as everyone you talk to has a different idea on what size Turbo to use on an A15
I won't say just yet as to what size turbo I'm using on this SECOND build but I'd like to know what your running ?
Please - If you havent actually built it and its running - just say so

Turbo engine number 2 has:
Forged pistons 9.2:1
H beam rods
roller rockers
Low overlap cam
500cc injectors for E85
400 x 300 PWR intercooler
etc etc etc
Aiming for genuine 150 RWKW

Seems like people are shy about this. So let me report on Datsonovic's A15:
* T04 turbo 141hp @ 6000rpm

tourque of the 1500 isnt lost off boost. after 3000 she starts spooling up and by 3500 shes on boost at 4000 shes on full boost and dosnt run out until well after 7000

Not my experience however I have been thinking of the GT15, GT22 and GT25 units as
a friend here uses a gt25 garret on his auto 3sge and gets the same power as stock
but pulls like a truck in any gear and gives incredible fuel economy compared to
others with no lag at all. The Altezza guys here are a weird but interesting bunch.

I often wondered if its better to have a turbo that will make 20-30hp more than you
are aiming for or even less to stay always in the efficiency curve much like
diesel engines do and modern 1.4litre turbo engines from many jp makes do atm.

The 1.4 to 1.6 cars for sale here (2018 models) are mostly around 140 to 160 hp (flywheel HP of course how all car manufacturers rate their engines). There are some tuned for high HP like the Fiesta 1.6 at 197hp and the Focus RS 2.3 at 350hp. And some tuned for extra power in the lower and mid-RPM range, but little at high RPM (making a grunter engine)

In other words there are many ways to do it right. In our 1200 community there dont seem to be anybody making grunter turbo engines. This article it thought-provoking

I was very curious about this choice.

Simon used what on his A12 setup?

I think one of the twin turbos found on the either the RB or Jz
then changed the titanium inpeler for stainless as they suffe over 12psi

I like the new style grunter engines esp since driving the vw 1.4 gt model
many years back, beautiful power and economy but was twin charged.

I haven't actually fitted any or even built an intake manifold I'm happy with yet. Hence I don't really have useful input. I have collected a few different turbos to use though. I have a T25, T28, T3 (from a SAAB), I've also toyed with using a GT18v off a diesel sprinter van. The EGTs might be low enough with e85? Lots of work to find out!

Then there's the M90 blower in a box in the shed I thought about fitting. I do like the idea of twin charging but packaging is an issue. Twin charging is probably overkill when you've already got the big block A series but allows a bigger turbo and a wider torque band.

Right now I'm trying to stay focused on getting a gearbox ready.

DD,
what I like about Datsonovic's A15 is its so 80s simple
and from his words has little lag and serious torque.
Draw-through with well timed meth/water is underrated.
