Anything is possible with enough cutting and shutting.

weight would be something to think about
Width might also be an issue. If its too wide, then a 305 chev has a steeper angle of the V, but its slightly taller.

getting it licensed, well, thats another whole ball game, and depending on where you are from, will determine if it is even a worthwhile project to attempt. i would suggest speaking to a local engenieer to see what would be involved. I have only even seen pics of V8s in dattos that are drag cars.

anything is possible though...

I saw a 1600 at summernats 2 years ago it was running a V8 turbo charge monter of a motor look like it fit quite well.

the 3.5L and 3.9L all alloy rover V8s would 'fit' and be light over the front wheels. there's lotsa goodies for them too.

Jordan Rover Tech here in Perth play with them a fair bit, so they'd be the blokes to contact
