Will the pistons from an A12A (1237cc) work in a A12 (1171cc) if the 1171cc is rebored to accept the 1237cc pistons? I m asking because someone on Ebay has them for sale and
they said the pistons were for an A12, but they also said the same pistons were used by Nissan in the A12A. I dont know if this is just a trick to get me to buy the pistons or
not.

You should be able to use those pistons. Just make sure and take them to the machine shop with you so they can
be fitted correctly.

You should check with Peter Zekhert, he's an expert on A-series engines. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure that A12A engines have a larger piston pin than an A12, you'd
have to use a different connecting rod.

Dave Is right the a12a has 19mm pin and the a12 has a 17mm pin the a12a stock bore is 75mm a12 is 73mm. that 2mm is roughly .080" some blocks may not have enough wall thickness
to bore that far. thou I have heard of some boring the a12 to .120".
you will need to use a12a rod to use the a12a pistons.

Thanks guys. I get the idea. the A12A pistons will not fit in the A12without modifications. The guy on Ebay is pretty sure they're 73.5 pistons, though. I'm going to go ahead
and buy them.If they dont fit, I only wasted $45.00

I wasn't trying to be rude, only sarcastic. ;^)
Thanks for the tip, I'll look it up and read it.

In that case, take a look at post 5362. It will tell you how I put in the B-210 suspension. Thats as close to a full bolt in
as you can get.

Not to argue, but the 210 is closer to a bolt-in than the B210, as the 210 control arms bolt right up to the 1200 crossmember. So no drilling is required. However, you
make an interesting case because your way makes it easier to ditch the A12 for an A14/A15. So it's really 78. ;^)

At the time, I wasn't aware the 210 control arms would bolt right up to the 1200 crossmember, but I had to replace the 1200 x-member anyway cause it was messed up. However, I did have
a junker B-210 handy at the time, and thats why I decided to transfer the B-210 components to my "roller" 1200.Anyway, thanks for the 210 tip I ll remember that next time I want to
make a swap.
