Hey guys, Please help.

My g\sticks bushes are ####ed,
yesterday when I opened up the stick, I noticed that there is a size 10 bolt and nut which runs through the bottom of the stick, IS THIS THE RIGHT TYPE OF SET UP? I dont think so.
What is the name of this pin, part no anybody?

Hey DD, do you have a pic of this pin.{anybody}
Cause, its no use buying the plasric bushes from the agents if I dont have the correct setup on my G\stick.

Oh GXMAN, these bushes are really cheap in JHB, only 35 bucks from the agents.{3 of them}

Sound expensive! Go to the wreckers, any Nissan transmission uses the same ones, even on L-series transmissions, from the 60s to the 80s at least.

The pin is a special shoulder bolt (there are no threads on 90% of the pin). There are only threads on the very end. Some version have no threads, but use a circlip to make it fast (the two kinds are interchangeable).

If a plain threaded bolt is used, I think it would accelerate wear on the bushings.

I would think the pin is also common to many models of Nissan transmission.

Hi Reeves

Did you try Autozone and Engineparts for these bushes?
I think they will be cheaper there.
About the number 10 bolt. This is not the right way.
Like DD mentioned, this is how mine is:
It has a bolt type thing that have a round head like a nail on the one side.
This round part has somewhere in the rounding a flat spot so that it is not 100% round. Almost like a flat tyre standing on the road. On the other side it has a part where you clip in a circlip to secure it inside the gear stick.The circlip must be on the righthand side of the gearlever when putting it in.
Go to a scrapyard to get one from the bakkie. I also think the bakkie one will fit.
Mine also got sloppy when changing gears and when I rebuild the gearbox I replaced these bushes while the lever was removed.
Goodluck.

I did check with the other Guys ,like Autozone etc,
I noticed the type of quality on these bushes are different compared to what nissan has.
The agent's ones feel alot stronger .
Anyway 3 of them for 35bucks, I dont think that its toooo bad.
I would love to buy more stuff from the Nissan Dealers{agents} instead of aftermarket spares, however we cant afford the ridiculuos prices that they mention sometimes.
But whenever It comes to hydraulic Rubbers, plastics bushes, pins, specific bolts and stuff, I feel going to the agents help.
Sometimes these aftermarket mnfd spares cost you more at the end of the day.
I've learnt the hard way.
