I've been having a few problems lately aswell. I think it might have something to do with the amount of people that have been on lately???
Every time I go on, there is at least 10 -15 other people online. There never seems to be a problem when there are less people online...
(I know, I'm probably the worst when it comes to not logging out... )

There was definitely a problem around 24-48 hours ago ... the Branco brothers restarted the server and it's working better now.

Still seems to be a bit slow, It's not usually this slow just because 10 members/guests are online.

why cant i log on MY computer!!! Ive tried on another computer in our house and it works fine, ive deleted all cookies, internet files regarding history of datsun1200, offline files, temp files regarding I.E but IT STILL WONT LET ME!!

It says 'thank you for logging in datrat_dave' then it loads the correct screen but im not logged in!! what do i do?? sign up again or can one of the admins reset my account??

Help Me! i cant live without datsun1200.com!!!! im addicted!

It takes a while to open pages here too. I have to wait for all the images and avatars to load. This page said it took .7959 seconds to load. I was more like 79.59.
It's slow, but works properly. Logging on is not a problem.

edit- I also ran tracert from DOS and it showed 21 hops for www.datsun1200.com and datsun1200.com. What this means I don't know.

DD thanks for the suggestion but ive definitely tried the no 'www' bit at the beginning. No speed-up software, im behind my linux firewall which is running slow-down software (wondershaper) to alleviate for the upstream queing issue effecting cable/adsl modems worldwide (i do this so i can leech 24/7 and still get relatively low latency). you may notice the
on most of my postings, it is the linux mascot, Tux. Linux also rules along with Datsun 1200's.

BuRp newsflash i actually decided to try figure it out and just did, my firewall was dropping icmp packets (pings) from datsun1200.com (even though it NEver seemed to do that before a few weeks agO) so i made the certain changes to my iptables and now its all sweet. sorry for the ####talk i hadnt even intestigated it properly yet. datsuns rule computers suck.

i cant perform a complete traceroute to datsun1200.com, possibly it is behind a nat firewall like mine.. not sure.

still pretty slow but thats cuz our australian sourced packets have to travel across around 20 router hops before they reach netcabo.pt where datsun1200.com seems to be .. even from connect.com's fibre backbone does this slow ping exist. damn slow internet in 2004, wait 5-10 years and it will rock.

ang94541, the reason is says it took >1 second to load page is that this forum is dynamic and it took the webserver (the computer on which datsun1200.com data is located) that long to compile the page before sending it out to your web browser. also interesting what you say about the 21 hops, it seems strange it is 20+ hops from AU as well as US.. see below the out put of my traceroute.. interesting to compare the two..

There is still a problem for me.
Early last evening, Australian eastern time, my wife's computer, no problemo.
Later that same night, my place, my computer, Log in OK, but not worth the effort to load any page after that.
Next morning [now] My place, my computer, all seems to be OK [again]

We are preparing some changes on the datto 1200 server, this is afecting server performance as resources are beeing used for this tasks. After this operations, the normal speep will be restored. We apologine any inconvenience. We hope that this will improve the overall speed since some other sites hosted are beeing moved from this server

Would these changes in the server be the reason for me not being able to log in on MY computer but another computer in my house?? Is there any cookies or registered temp files which datsun1200 puts on MY computer? i.e history logs for remembering my password etc??

Look at the security settings in your "internet options" you will find they are different between PCs. High security does not allow the cookies etc.
