I can finally get my hands on a weber 32/36 carby, but now the problem is them jets. Found the jetsizes for the carb on a dyno'ed a12 motor(on this site), but how will those jetsizes work on a a14 motor.

Air Correction: 175/145
Fuel: 120/145
Emulsion Tube: F66/F66
Choke Tube: 3.5/4.5
Idle: 50/55

will my datto be driveable or will i be followed by a dark cloud of smoke?

thanks in advance

Firstly find out what your weber 32/36 came off. Mine came off a 1600 cortina which is pretty close in capacity to an a14. If yours is off a 2l cortina/escort then you will need to change chokes and stuff.

Mine is running 140primary and seconday although 1 appears to be slightly larger than the other and it works good. Not running too rich and not running too lean.

If the 32/36 you have is off a 1600 instead of a 2L you will be almost there as far as setting it up goes. If you put on one off a 2L without changing anything you will have storm clouds coming out the back.

on my tuned A-14 i was using 140/145 mains, 185/180 air correctors, and 50/55 idles.

on my 38DGAS I'm running 185 air correctors, 45 idles and 142 mains.

do your self a favour, take the chokes out completely, the carb flows a bit better.

What are you running at the moment? stanard/ modified??

cheers

My motor is suppose to be standard(the guy i bought it from just got it redone by nissan).
yeah i removed my choke on my old ford sapphire aswell not for performance but because i broke it hehe (my early days).

So i disassembled my carb(32/36) lastnight and made an interesting descovery. main jets:130/135 idle: 45/45 and i think 175/175 aircorrection. Thats a bit small for a 2L motor isn't it but just right for a A14 motor

The carb was in horrible condition had white flakie stuff everwhere, jets where bloked and dirty as hel..l....now squeky clean. the only thing i couldn't get out was the emultion tubes only the back part came of with emultion tubes firmly stuck in carby .
How is a person suppose to remove them if this happens?

Yeah sounds like someone has jetted it down to suit a smaller motor. I've got a feeling that the ones on the 2L had jet sizes of around 170. Just put it on and see how it goes. You will notice a big difference over the stock carby especially up high in the rev range.

those jets sound about right, you up on the high veld aren't you? you might have to go leaner, try it and see what happens. my jetting was for durban(sea level)

hehe not in the highveld, live in strand(30km from cape town). i'm pretty much on sea level, if you look close enough you can see the cars rusting in front of your eyes

I'm only gonna be able to put the carb on this weekend cause i've still got to make an adaptor plate. After that i'll probly get her dyno'ed in the comming month or so. will post specs here and the jets they used.

thanks
