I have been told it is an "J" series head. I found it attached to an MGB engine. It bolts up to the MG engine but the combustion chambers and vavles are undersized for the 1798 BMC motor. This will go cheaply or to the dump.

This engine was available, at least here in Japan, in the 520,521,620, and I'm pretty sure some 720 datsun pickups. They look similar to the A series with obviously different exhaust/intake and water neck setups and a cast iron head.
