Series 3 Bluebird with CA20.
R30 Skyline (L24 power) 5 speed. Might need a different sized bearing to help it all mate up. I've heard of people matching a CA18DET front casing with the L24 R30 Skyline g/box.

Any reason why no one has used the box out of the r31 pintara. Also is the flywheel from the ca20 a bolt up for the ca18. this is not for a 1200 so bulk is'nt a prob, but length could be.

if you're talkin about the CA20 pintara box, its the same as the CA20 bluebird box. they work, just not very strong. they only back a 2 litre four remember.
not sure on the flywheel, but the box would work if you didn't have a heap of power behind it and treated it verrry nicely.

The CA20 flywheel and front pulley are wimpy and different to the CA18DE/DET.
The CA20 is like an asthmatic, calcium deficient, overweight big brother..might be bigger, but not as fast. Regards, Chris

Bit of topic but
I used to run a stock CA20 gearbox behind my FJ20T bolted straight up cost me a six back of beer and never missed a beat. The reason i tried it was because i was told that it is identical to the FJ20T box the only thing was 4th gear was i bit smaller.

Thanx for that dood .By smaller 4th gear,do you mean that 5th was an obvious overdrive rather than a well spaced next gear.Anyone else got experiance with these boxes?
