I think CA18DET_man is planning on running the Mountain straight hillclimb. Something tells me that would be worth seeing!

Hey evilsim,
imagine doing the esses DESCENT. I did it some years ago in my Gemini (I know, I know ) and it's a real adrenalin rush . A whole new respect for the V8 boys during Bathurst ! Hope I can get up there for a look too.
Cheers

Yep Ive entered. Got my details back and im Number 110 A full field being a state round should have some fast cars there. Im runnign in sports sedan class (no restrictor ect) My main oposition will be a tamworth car gemini sports sedan with well over 400hp Sr20det on slicks. I should hopefully give them all a run.
Ive only entered the saterday event as Im kinda broke state rounds $140 entry fee each day. Ill be doing more club rounds later in the year.
If anyone comes up to the mount come and Introduce yourself Its always great having a yarn to fello a datsun fan.
cheers Andrew

EDIT : go here to see pics and movies of the event.

ca18det_man, i didnt read your reply before the weekend, i wouldve come and said hi if it knew who you were. *damn* i was parked up the top of the mtn and stayed till about 1-2pm then headed back to syd (i was in my 1200).. it'd been a long weekend already. was a great event, not too many people but still one or 2 familia faces.

there were 2 1200 coupes and 1 sedan. the sedan was ALL fibreglass except the roof!. the inside was gutted and refitted with alum. was running an L20. 1 of the coupes was running an A15 with ute diff stanza front celica box pintara rear discs. i heard the 1200 sedan won a heat over the loudspeaker a little before i left.

good day worth the effort (even if it was on the way home for me) its gr8 to see 1200's still racing feverishly

also there was a 260Z car with a V8 and it was an AWD. sounded awesome and got up the esses very fast and nicely.

only saw 1 car loose it, and it was a WRX heheh! (just hit its ass on the wall and continued to cross the line 10 mtrs away) eheh

other nissans there were
200sx
few old bluebirds incl a V8 in a boxy old bluey
260Z (as above)

R-fastmotorsport: its a good rush, lots of screeching involved. ive been down it going pretty hard once but my little sister was in the car so i couldnt be too silly. public road schmublic road, drive fast and safely.
