Well I thought I would share a non 1200 owners view of our cars:
This past Saturday I was instructing at one of our local Las Vegas tracks with a group called the Racer Factory , a primarly VW Audi group. My students were two guys sharing an Audi awd supercharged A4.

In between beginer sessions I gave rides in my 1200.(My car is running an A12GX bottom end with H-production head, race valves and springs , Weber 32/36 - 85 HP or so. Suspension is 280ZX coil overs , control arms with ZX brakes. in the rear are Nismo springs and the traction bar set-up with an H145 LSD w/4.11 rear gear. )

Total I gave 5 people rides; First off they were amazed that a push rod engine would buzz to 7800 RPM's. All of them were also impressed with how well the car cornered...one student couldn't believe we were doggin a Lotus Elise mid corner. Ok so it was an intermedate driver behind the wheel of the Lotus , but hey I'm all for 1200 propaganda.
The best part of the day is when the organizer came up to me as I was loading up and said students told them "hey we went for a ride in that Scuderia Pokey Car , my 1200 , it's slow down the straights but man is it a lot of fun!!!" One of the guys was running a 400 HP twin turbo Z and he thought the car was a scream.
Also I told my two primary students about you guys in Australia and New Zealand running turbo twin cams..."that would be wicked fast" was all they had to say.
I posted this since we've all encountered the why would you own that snob , so it was nice to spend a day with people who appreciated what fun a 1200 can be.

Tom

good on you.

it's always nice to take people for a ride and watch their faces

i'll be doing the same to a few "holden vs ford" folk in my 240C.

namely Big Al and his "personal preference' of cruise vehicle selection...
