im not sure if this guy i know is selling his fj20 non-turbo and auto box from a 84 gazelle but i need to know if anyone has done it before and are manual boxes easily available?

ive seen a sr 20 turbo engine in a 120y if the fj 20 is about the same it should fit i dont know if the trans tunnel will need to be modofied .....this is just an indication of what can be done .

yeah they fit, with a bit of trans tunnel work tho. remember on top of this you'll need a clutch, flywheel, slave and mastercylinder. if its the factory ECU, that will also be different from the manual version. i don't think the gearboxes are that readily available either, especially down in tassie.

Yeah tom pretty hard to get that stuff i reckon and plus the rego plps wouild be up your clacker about it, IF you were going to tell them that is.....

Theres 2 (i tihnk) 1600's in Launceston area with FJ20ET's in them but their all racing cars so ya, this was told to me by Chris at Merv Gray's.

At Goulburn there were two 120Y worth a look. The Coupe was a racecar & had an SR20 with turbo, while the other was a stockish looking, but lowered sedan with unexciting mag wheels & a 308 Holden V8 in front of its uncut firewall & tunnel. Amazing

is one of those a purple one looks good but i reckon it would go better, dont like the intercooler, but i spose it does the job
