And then some. For me, massive music & marvelous motoring just don't mix. Don't get me wrong, I like both kinds of music, thats Country,..... and Western, but not through a sound system that owns all the available space in my car. Sing to me Garth. [Brooks]

Sony make good home entertainment systems, but they are close to the bottom of the barrel when it comes to car audio. Shiney bright reds and silvers dont make quality, they just make looks. Thats why Sony stuff is sold where it is.

I disagree. Out of the various car stereo equipment I have owned, I have been most impressed by the sound of the single 10 inch Xplod sub that was in my 1600. It was cheap and gave a nice low, clean sound and the build quality of sony gear is excellent. But when shopping for a home system, the only sony stuff I found was over priced and sounded like ####.

I have 2 pioneer 10's in my suby at the moment and they are absolute garbage. They distort if someone farts in the backseat!

But, a nice motor sounds better than untalented idiots playing techno samples anyway so who cares.

idiots playing techno samples???
there is more skill involved in electronic music than you'd think.

you only have your youth once, there is plenty of time for dire straights later

My cousin is a dj, he's shown me how much skill is involved. I learnt to put on records and use a fader when I was about 6. It took me about a year to be able to play even a basic song on guitar and 5 or 6 years on I'm still learning. The young dj's will always talk themselves up, but the experienced ones admit its basic.

I can understand people getting wasted and jumping around to the beats in clubs, but noone can tell me there's any talent in it.

But man, standing behind those turntables in clubs definately gets you some chicks!!!

ps....I hear ya on the dire straights!!!

Dont you dare knock Dire Straits!! They are a great band and are one of the only good bands that the drummer can acctually sing, a big shout out to Terry Williams and of course the legend himself Mark Knopfler a guitarist that has written a little place in history for himself!!

Hey im 18 and i appreciate all music (except for commercialised bullsh|t), and yeah there is a fair bit of work in dj'ing not so much the presenting but the actual preperation and structure of the songs takes some thinking....having said that i dont listen to that stuff much!

So what you're saying is when you get a bit older (and smarter) you'll also get to appreciate good tunes, not the doof doof you're listening to at the moment.

oi... thats not very nice, did i have a go at anyone???

a few facts: i love music, i own a huge sound system, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboard, $$$ of audio software and turntables... i spead all my time (when not fiddling with the B310) making music... i agree live sets do not take alot of talent!!! (producing/remixing quality stuff does)...

BUT WHO DOSEN'T LOVE JUMPPING AROUND TO SOME DOOF DOOF EVERY NOW AND THEN
Im the guy with the light on my forehead above the DJ's head

also notice that the DJ has his entire set planned on his laptop using LIVE v3... now thats simple
