Ash just hit the nail on the head......you need pressure to get good atomisation.

With the boost cooler we run a 140psi pump! this means we can actually run a smaller nozzle, yet pump more water and still have it evaporate before it gets anywhere near the cylinder! With better atomisation, the water droplets are smaller, evaporation (heat transfer) is faster and the efficiency of the system is much improved.

An example would be.....laying out 5 x 1kg blocks of ice on a hot road and timing how long they take to melt. Repeatthe experiment with 5kgs of small ice cubes.....which will melt faster? The smaller ice cubes.....because they have more surface area. It's a similar principal with water injection.

Add on top of that an electronic control module tometer the amount of water being injected throughout a designated boost/rev range and you have total control of your water injection set-up.

Kegs - I live pretty close to you, and you are welcome to come to my place and have a look at the set-up first hand. I have the system 80% installed now, just a few finishing touches to do....I also have new kits in their boxes so that you can see what you get for your money.

Cheers,

Mark.

It will only rust the exhaust if the water remains in the exhaust pipe when it cools down. If you leave the engine running at idle for a short time before shutting down you should not have any water being injected into the engine & the exhaust gas should cary away any remaining vapour.

Most turbo cars are idled for a short time before shutdown anyway to allow the turbine to spool down while still being fed with oil pressure, & to cool it down as well, so it would not involve anything that is not being done now anyway.

damn, those kits look to have alot of good bits but for a fairly low budget build up i think they are way out of my pricerange... thanks for your help nonetheless.

does it rust out your exhuast?

water is produced by the combustion anyway, thats why water comes out the exhaust for a while when you start your car until the exhaust heats up enough to evaporate it... My old man had that problem in his magna, he drove it 3 minutes to work everyday (lazy i know) which was enough time to build up water in the muffler but not long enough to evaporate it. A few months later he had a nice rusty hole in the muffler
