With all this talk about rotary-powered 1200s, I thought it was about time somebody put a Nissan engine in a Mazda.

I reckon the A15 would be better than the A14 since the RX-7 weighs so much (2300-3000 lbs), and the extra torque would help. This swap would eliminate forever the dreaded Mazda rotary engine carbon lock.

I don't really see it being a viable option for this engine...........unless.........It is possible to buy a 3/4 size RX7 body shell- fibreglass-.....lots of drag racers use them in South American countries. Then it might be viable for a curcuit racing car or other small motorsport vehicle.

I think the A10 would be just fine. Mabe an A12 if you are getting all crazy. But an A14?!?!? That's just too far...

why bother when you already have a car built around a great engine? not be be undatsunlike but its true .. you have a great performance potential with either the 12A or 13B wether you decide to go turbo or NA .. I love the sound of a healthy rotor.

yo dattoman! good to have you aboard (this is Tom from the earlydatsun mailing list btw)

well, im pretty sure in these days of competitive show cars an aseries in an rx7 (or rx8 especially)will drop more jaws than the maddest rotar just picture it, you seea hot rx7 in a show ,22 inch chrome alloys ,the baddest paint huge audo video install, big tubs on the rear and a standard a10 under the bonnet ,,, you would be shure to get the craziest conversion award if not most original,,, ,,in fact datsun hubcaps and interior ++++ datto baby poo brown paint on outside,, ,as holden say "i just want one" man, youd have to get some kind of magazine feature out of that whos first??
