I'm getting together a gearbox for my ca18 conversion.
Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on the process of swapping over the bellhousing from the ca20 to put on the skyline gearbox.
I've been offered a ca20 bellhousing, do I need anything else from the ca20 gearbox for this process?
cheers
Bruce

keep an eye on the size of the gearbox shaft bearings.... some say a different size bearing is needed on one of the shafts...

although this wasnt the case when i did the swap...

apart from that it should go together no problem

Would you say the process is pretty straightforward?

yeah its fairly straight foreward...a bit fiddly though...

just make sure 100% that you have the correct bearing size... you dont wanna be pulling it all apart again once you get it on the road...

good luck

ps do a search and you'll find that this has been covered pretty extensively.. even has pictures showing the suspect bearing...
should put you on the right track!

I can help you with SR and CA boxes (as I think the bearings are the same).

The countershaft bearing on the SR(CA too?) box is bigger than the R30 box.

Theres some pictures in the photo section on here, I can post another one if your interested, as im in the middle of doing a simlar thing.

If you could post something that would be great.
I did a search on r30 skyline, stumpy skyline etc, but didn't come up with anything.
What are you guys searching on?
cheers
Bruce
