Hey Dimlight i'm looking forward to seeing those 1200's again. The show's less than a month away. Except this year we'll be at Rudy's Country store and BBQ on 35 in Round Rock. I'll have to check out your sites.
Did'nt mean to offend the Aussies, I don't think Ya'll all croc hunters. That guy just iratates me. "I think i'll just stick my hand in this snake den where I've just pissed off all these snakes." Anyhow all the Aussies i've met here in Texas have been reall cool, very honest and straight forward, No ####in around.
Speaking of movies, anybody see The Tom Selleck movie "Quigley Down Under"? Pretty hoakie, but intresting look into Austrailian history. Nice talking to ya.

Keep those Datsuns on the road

Strangely enough, Mel Gibson was born in the United States.

I also thought every american rock fan knew AC/DC is Australian, although most might be hard-pressed to name another (maybe Olivia Newton-John, Split Enz, Icehouse, Bee Gees? ... I'm probably missing the obvious ...)

Bee Gees, they are so English its a joke!

Going back to the Mel Gibson thing, his car is nice in Mad Max, what is it?

While were still on 80's Movies I really want a Delorian!!!

(That dude was an idiot - Borrowed 80 million bucks to produce the car and then only produced 100,000 of them... So he had to sell each one of those for $80,000 - jackass)

the car in mad max was a XB ford falcon falcon hardtop (coupe) it was fitted with a 351 ci v8 .. but the supercharger was a fake prop with hollow internals that fitted over the top of the standard carb.
these were the sort of cars that were raced at mount panorama , bathurst. but often had their asses kicked by cars like the nimble little 3300 cc torana XU-1 six..

yes the beegees were quick to distance themselves from australia when fame and fortune came their way weren't they? just like mick malthouse defecting over to the crows after all the work he did for the eagles!

Hey you plagerising Aussie buggers most of the guys in AC/ DC are poms and they again live in England. The drummer Phil Rudd lives in Rotorua NZ and has a bloody nice collection of muscle cars which includes a genuine GT40. i met at a classic car race meeting and he's a really cool guy (for an aussie) Split Enz are Kiwis and so is Neil Finn from Crowded House. I suppose you are claiming Russell Crowe as well....lol...

hey shoom, that's not the way I remember it!

Bathurst 73 - Moffat(a Canadian I think)/Geoghegan XA hartop won.
Bathurst 74 - Goss/Bartlett won in another XA hardtop.
Then there was the famous Ford Dealer Team(headed by Moffat) 1-2 formation finish with the XB hardtops , but I can't remember what year that was.

Sorry, I've got a soft spot for hardtops. Saw the first GroupC race in QLD in 20 years a month or so ago. Guess what won?

It was 77 and the XBs had XC front sheetmetal to update their looks.....those are the days in motorsport I relate to ,to. I have noticed that there is a trend amongst 1200 owners to also have a V8 in the stable...is that another 70's throwback??
