A carby suited malpassi never failed me to get the low pressure for idle - thats using vl pumps. Seen many a few setup exactly the same.
Never used a pre pump or surge tank. Always put a fitting straight in the drain plug of the 1200 sedan tank. Never built a track car, so never had to deal with surge problems. 1/4 tank of fuel in such a small tank never gave problems.
1200rc I do recall you malpassi was secondhand of unknown condition and failed to work. Wonder why?
Any fuel pump capable of higher than boost pressure will do the job.

Main priority is to always have fuel ready for use in the carbie.

Hi i have use the vl pump both ways, with and without a sure tank both work fine. The 70 psi can be droped to about 5-6 psi using the malpassi M3T regulater. I have just sold my turbo A12 so i have 2 regs for sale, one is new it was on the car for about an hour $150 for that. still in the box.
The other was on the car when the return line got blocked, there for blowing the diapham, you can buy a new one for $40 i'm only asking $50 for this one.

send me a note if you are interested

How do you plan to seal the crankcase from boost pressure?
It may be possible on a chevy style pump that uses a pushrod, But a datsun lever type pump will prove very difficult to seal beneath the diaphram and still have the pump able to operate.
You could just supply the crankcase with boost and simply degrease your motor everyday
