It's sad that california is self-destructing. I too will be moving away as soon as i find a way.

We can't blame any one governor for making it bad it's been a down hill slide for a long time.

i'd like to move away... with all the ridiculous prices for everything, but I love Cali too much. I got everything within atleast an hour and a half drive from me: beach, mountains, canyons, Nissan HQ, etc...

Lots of companies are interested in the southeastern U.S cause it is cheaper to operate here in the south . The cost of living is cheaper too.....

Well we here in Nevada refer to it as "The Communist Republic of California" and this is a state where the Federal Government owns 80% of the land. Between the rules , taxes and congestion I do not know how anyone manages to say sane there. Seems like a high price to pay for nice scenery.
As for Nissan's design team , well with all due respect. I could have bought a Sentra SER but got a Mazda Protege ES instead. I'm not a fan of Nissan's current cars they look like oragami on wheels to me.Time for a change maybe be it surrondings or people
Nissan would likely save big bucks and Pappa Renault is probably thinking the same.

Mega Dittos, Rallytwit. So let 'em all go to Hyundai/Kia. Or let 'em go to Dollywood.

That theres sum ser-e-us culture Matt , er on second thought maybe Frontiers with factory gun racks are not such a good idea.
And I thoguht I lived in a hillbilly state, just cuz we still had cynanide stip mining not to long ago. Of course we can still Ride our dirt bike most places..........maybe the design team could move to Vegas , then new Maxima's would come in colors like hot pink , purple passion and powder blue. All with mirrors on the headliner.

Tom
PS I'm thinking they will head to Hyundai/Kia

Mr. K gets involved

Quote:
One celebrated Nissan figure who opposes the proposed move is retired executive Yutaka Katayama, renowned as the father of the Nissan "Z" sports car. Katayama, 96, is called "Mr. K" by legions of Nissan enthusiasts and was head of the U.S. operation from its inception in 1958 until 1978.

He hand-delivered a letter, entitled "Voice Against Relocation," to Ghosn's office at the company's Tokyo headquarters two weeks ago, said his longtime associate Masataka Usami.

In an e-mail to The Times, Katayama said he believed that relocating its California headquarters would cost Nissan "its sensitivity to the [U.S.] car business" by removing key marketing and product development people from an area "considered to be the birthplace of automobile culture."
