i got the turbo setup bolted and everything is hooked up. i got fuel in the fuel filter and i can see spark in the dizzy but it doesnt seem to be fireing. the carby im using is the hiatchi su style but im not sure if its squirting fuel. i dont no jack about the carbys or howq they work so i need some advise on what i should be looking at

The su works on vaccum so unless there is vaccum you will not see any fuel coming out. Cant really see any at cranking speed. Just a little mist will spray up.

Pour a little fuel down it. Sounds like youve done this, and make sure not too much or it will flood. If it doesnt fire it has to be a ignition problem. Also fill the bowl up in the su as all the fuel lines will be dry and will take heaps of cranking to get it to the carby. Give it a head start.

there is fuel in the lines as far as i no its up to the filter which is bout 10cm away from the carb so i asume the is fuel geting to the carb. ignitions fine as i sed i can see it sparking i got a clear dizzy cap. if it runs off vacuum then where do i conect it, the is a line opposite where the fuel line goes, is that a vacuum line? whats the cilinder thing in the front supposed to do, shud it move when i open up the trotle

are the plugs getting wet?

carnt cheak right now but i doubt they are. i need to no more about the carby

No sucks fuel from engine vaccum. No lines needed. Just because its sparking doesnt mean its firring at the right time. If the timing is out by a few degrees it will not fire at all as the spark is jumping when there is no air/fuel in the chamber. Check your timing. If there is fuel it wont be carb related. You can pour a little bit of fuel down a manifold with no carbs on and it will fire it. Poorly but it will.

I can come around and have alook for you could be a number of things, is it a suck through set up they can be a pain in the bum some times .things like the needle and seat could be jammed shut has it got oil in the top of the su, if not this could flood the engine as the needle and slide will open up alot quiker and let to much fuel in. did you clean and check the carb before use is the carby mounted level so the needle and seat open properly .Theres plenty to say about an su set up mine works well but i got a bargain when i brought it. i hope u r using a good fuel pump and a rising rate regulator...

if u don't have a pump the boost from the turbo will push tyhe fuel backwards down the line...

but seeing as u can't get it started, u won't be getting any boost yet...

Its draw through anyhow so he doesnt need to match fuel pressure as its on the suction side.

there is now fuel in the carb but its still not running. there is a linkage on the other side of the throtle, when i turn that and lift up the cylinder thing at the front fuel gushes out and its realy dirty looking. does this carb have a choke or is this it?, the linkage i mean
