A question to you all out there ?
Is the GX bonnet wanted because it is rare (tats stupid but i had to ask) ?
because the centre is raised and allows more room under bonnet as such ?
Just looks different?
Or is everyone want it to look modern but not stand out like dogsballs ?
why i ask is is i could come up with something different ..

I believe you could make one and call it a GX and many would still buy it. God knows not everyone thinks they look good.

I hope you are going to be producing wheel arch flares. Many members are always after these and they show to be going for a big price. Dont know if the cost is due to the manufacturing process or just because it can.
Its a big move to setup a buisness that looks to have such a limited market. I bet you have ideas for other markets also.

May all go well.

I've always been on the lookout for the Gp4 coupe grill, there's a bad black and white photo at
Group 4 Sunny

Is this it? Very unusual.

I'm after the GX bonnet as i was after a bit more room. I am doing a L20b conversion so that could make more room. Also my 1200 bonnet at the mometn isnt perfect.

Another option could be a fiberglass buldge attached to the stock bonnet.

cheers,

Rich

Hey dodgeman, yes, that's the Group4 grill.

The only one I've ever seen got turned into a thousand piece jigsaw against the wall at pukekohe back in about 1989.

sigh...

Those Gp 4 grilles sell in Japan every now and then on Yahoo Auctions Japan. I was about to buy one on there a year ago but decided not to because my car is a street car and I wouldn't use it very much. Stay on the lookout for them on Yahoo Japan if you want one that bad!

Shame you cancelled that trip to Melbourne. I've got that GX bonnet ready to be flopped.
Maybe we can work out something for easter. Good luck with the business and I'm sure I'll be buying something off you soon.

Merry Xmas to all....Cadet1200

gx bonnet doesnt offer more room in the engine bay.......... it's a myth

it has the same under frame as a stock bonnet, which as you guys can figure out means that under the lump in the GX bonnet is the junction of the two cross brace (frame), hence, no extra room at all

sorry to shatter dreams

you are right 1200rallycar, I have both and there is no hight gains at all, its just for the look. Still you could make a "new GX" bonnet with a slightly larger bulge that still has the same look but is slightly higher and more functional.
