My daughter got her learners on monday (at last) & we took her 1200 auto sedan for her first lesson. Before we went out we replaced the thermostat at it had seized shut (from sitting unused). And I do mean WE replaced it. Anyway, I don't think I have ever seen her so happy. She didn't believe me when I told her how much fun driving is. She sure does now. So if you see a brown datsun with an L plate, give us a wide berth for a while.

She said she wouldn't be caught dead in a crappy new hatchback. She is an artist so of course she can't have just any car.

That's neat! A girl down the street is driving an old beetle as her first car. Suprised me at first since parents usually buy their daughters a new hyundai or an older toyota.

Looks like there are two of us doing the same thing. My girl is learning on my 1970 sedan (manual). I will have to update my avitar. We run around the Albany Creek/Brendale area so watchout for the green machine all over the road.

Unlike Vex my girl does not like driving at all.

My son and I have been discussing what type of car to get him , he is almost 12 but has been Karting for 3 years.....so technically he is driving already. He's now tall enough to reach the pedals in the Rally car so it will be Dry Lake bed lessons pretty quick. We've been discusing what type of classic to get him. right now it's between a 200SX and 4th gen Celica. The car has to have AC has well it's 45 degrees here in Vegas.
Anyway really neat that your girls aprpreciate old cars.

Tom

My daughter is elible for her Cams licence in 2 years. In Oz you can get a junior racing licence at age 12.
She will be able to race before she gets her L's
