Reversing Lights in Dogleg 5 Speed

I've recently replaced the auto trans in my 120Y with a 5 speed manual (Dogleg pattern).

The reversing lights are on constantly and I can't figure out why.

Is there anyone out there who has encountered this before ?

There is a second plug in the side of the box with 2 spade ternimals but I've been told that's something to do with the anti pollution in 5th gear.

I'll take all the help I can on this guys. Thanks in Advance !

ANOTHER TRICK IS TO RUN THE WIRES THROUGH THE FIREWALL TO A SWITCH. YOU CAN SCARE OFF TAILGATERS BY FLASHING YOUR BACK UP LIGHT AT THEM

I had the exact same problem,I tried three different switches, same answer lights stayed on.
I did the quick fix and ran to a switch under the dash-not the best way but it managed a RWC.

I've just resolved what the problem was guys.... the swith itself was the wrong one to use, the shaft was the wrong length. I replaced it with the correct switch and everything is cool. If you can't get the right one, perhaps using a spacer or something might help ?
