hey guys i got a 1980 dato ute stock bar an a14 bout 6months ago, the car has been great but of late certain parts are starting to show thier age. The solution i feel is a ca8det conversion im decided on the engine but from there is where i feel im feeling short. The website is a mountain of knowledge but i still am finding it hard to get the right package together. My needs/wants are a reliable strong car with no hassles, (dont we all).

I got priced up the following (no labour included unless where specified) if you guys could advise if a. the prices seem right and b. which parts you feel are reasonably easy to tackle yourself that would be awesome

1 halfcut $2500
1 brake and suspension (120y skyline combo) $1500
1 efi fuel tank $300
1 lsd, rear disc brakes (skyline r31) $1500.00
1 intercooler (installed) $1200.00
1 exhaust system $1000
1 wiring $500

total 8900 for parts

the money isnt the issue as i have a bout 13 to play with, but would prefer to maybe get some body stuff done with that, maybe im dreaming maybe i should keep looking for a done one?

I know this is a huge ass post but info would be really appreciated, thanks guys in advance

Number one...where are you?
Number two...I havent done a CA conversion before, but from what I read on the site that you will probably spend the whole 13 on the conversion.
If you are in Sydney, Australia PM me and I can put you in touch with John and Jeff Taylor are are Datsun 1200 gurus in all aspects. They do not rip you off and are quite reasonable in prices and will make your car relaible as well as fast.
Actually Jeff's number is 96238826 and he is St Marys NSW. He can also put you in touch with John. Jeff does engines, John does brakes/suspenion.
