I am looking for a running A14/A15 engine in Perth.... NOT having great success at finding one.... getting tired of "they are too old for us!"

Are all the racers buying them up in bulk to rebuild as needed?

I did find a low mileage A15 (Japwreck) but $770 is a bit much!

It looks like Japwreck seem pretty confident that they will get that much for it from someone. That must be somewhere near the going retail price for good ones.

I think Feral has A14(s) for $550 and A15(s) (auto spec with oval port head) $880 so you might be right there!

I DO know where there is an A14 powered sunny! - but I don't know if the owner wants to sell it or not - but it HAS been thrashed - HARD! I know because my sister was one of the people who cained it!

$250 - that's about the price I want to spend!
how much would it cost to freight one over?

I did have the details of a company that had 14 A14's... I would have bought 2...

"Perth engine centre" or "perth performance centre" something like that...

Are there really good A15s that dont need a rebuild going for $250 here on the east coast?

Ive sold ones for $250 that could do with a "freshen up".

does your local speedway have a litre sprint class.if so,contact the class organiser & see if any of the competitors use an a series engine.you might find one that way.i went to a speedway show here in sydney recently & spent an hour or so chatting to the litre sprint guys about a series engines - they were very popular here in sydney.they also used to be called compact speedcars,so they might be known as that.someone might have a spare,or even better,a full race engine they dont need anymore.plus, methanol was still a legal road fuel last time i looked.

Would it be possible to get a late model Nissan Micra, fit the 1.8 litre motor from a Tiida & then turbocharged it? Your answer must include parts numbers for the conversion. You have 12 months. Commence.

No Quairading speedway (past tense - closed due to post 9/11 insurance problems)

the only Sprintcars were 320 and 360 limiteds open 360 and 410 were too fast...

Dad has a 320 class Sprintcar - 307 Chev, Valiant rods -320 Ci ~500Hp 9200 Rpm!

the only Datsun motors were A12's, as the only datsuns were Junior Stockys - infact the F4W60L gearbox that's in "The Defect" is an ex speedway item - it was in the neighbours daughters stocky 120Y

one of the guys there had kids that were into the sport, so he had heaps of dattos... one of his sons raced a 1000! sacrelidge!!
