I am currently building a 310 A14 coupe into a classic rally car.
I am seeing just how cheaply it can be done-the budget is tight! I do have a few bits and pieces lying around which helps however...
And yes I will admit it has taken a little longer than seven days but it is moving along pretty quickly all the same...
I'm not building a firebreather- it is just going to be a basically standard sunny with a rollcage and other safety requirements.

I'll let you all know how i get on- I'm going to have a few questions for the rally guys during the build I'm sure!

I like the Coupes too. The rear seat is a great donor for a 1600 Sedan. Can also be fitted to a 1200 Sedan.

Please don't bend it too much.. That rear quarter looks mint.

Here in the USA California Rally Series has a class called P-stock , stripped interior and the rest stock other than beefing up parts.
For your car I don't know what the rules allow but if you go with some KYB shocks and for the fronts 240Z springs should slide right on the stock strut. Get the rears re arched.
Over the years we've had more than a few guys show up at our rally in bone stock cars with roll cages.....the trick is to go slow on the rough stuff.
I once heard USA National Rally Champ Chad Di Marco say "drivers break cars not roads".
Have fun and feel free to use my slogan from my dog slow road race coupe "it's faster than a set of bleachers"

Tom Grossmann , Las Vegas NV

PS if you want to see pictures of our event go to LVRSCCA.org and click on Seed 9 Rally , lots of low tech cars.

in my country there used to be the most basic tarmac rally..
the cheapest and fastest way to make your car eligible is fit in a rollcage and fire extinguisher
:D

i from malaysia....
the event is actually just purely tarmac rally...

but eventually the event is not organized anymore.. due to lack of participant and support...

i mean in my country government never put much encouragement on motorsport event...
and its hard for privateer
and parts and cars are expensive
to get a racing license is difficult..

Rules are fairly free in this area. I already have some 175lb springs and bilstein shocks so those qill be going into it. I want some neg camber- not sure exactly which way I will go about that yet- have a few options. Will shorten castor rods for more +ve castor too but this will also require some guard trimming... was trying to avoid going to adjustable strut tops at this stage.

At the rear I'm not quite sure what to do at this stage- maybe just some KYBs or similar from a heavier vehicle to control the back a bit better, it is quite soft standard. and then if the budget will extent to it a pair of king springs- sunny's are coil rear.

Always keen to hear others' opinions however...
