Hi Guys
Is it possibble to fit bigger rotors and calipers to standard 1200 front struts. If so what ones would be the easiest and or best to fit.
Thanks
Bob

Kev Rowley sells an excellent conversion that bolts Silvia front brakes onto 120Y strut legs. It is a very cost effective conversion. PM me if you would like his number.

na wont work on 1200 struts the stub axle is too short.... the 120Y ones you are referring to are the upgraded struts...

You can fit bigger brakes on the 1200 disc-brake struts. There is a link to the Tech Section on the left side of this page (upper left). Go to the Brakes section.

To get brakes comparable to modern cars, a strut swap is called for so you can put on the big brakes with 14" wheels.

Can this please be explained in detail what the differance is in the utility's and 1200 sedan's stub axles?

I am planning to do a BMW 320i (the late 80's early 90's box shape) brake conversion on my 1200 GX struts.
It has been done to a 1400 bakkie here in south africa but they changed the brake calipers design from the back on the strut to the front of the bakkie's strut somewhere during production.
Everything else seems to be the same.
Just want to know if this is something that I missed measuring before I go and buy required parts.
