ok i know this has been discussed before but i have read in the tech section about a mazda b6 head bolting onto an a series block with all the water galleries lining up but the oil pasages dont and there are about 5 different heads that are on the b6 series of motors some came with turbos some didnt some are sohc some are dohc so which one is best?

I dont know if this is the answer you are looking for but here goes,

None of them are best, I doubt if you ever got the whole thing to work properly it would offer any advantage over a well done A series head.

The Jeff Taylor A15 in John Taylors car used to flog the multi valve 4age powered cars on the track.

I thought it was the GA16 head off a Nissan N16 or so Pulsar??? And a Vauxhaul???

yes there is kind of an advantage the fuel injection is alot easier and cheaper to come by the a series fuel injection

i would have to agree i mean how much money do you intend to throw at this thing you could turbo an a14 get better power and do it for a lot less money!

well the water galleries all line up but the passages dont so plug em up then run an external oil feed to the head have the cams driven by a belt externally

Yeah it would be nice if we had Doch technology. I have a friend with a Fiat 124 coupe and he's slotted in an 1800 twin cam engine of the same make and it's (and I quote another friend) "Porn"

How would you drive the dizzy and oil pump, they are run off the internal cam.
