can anybody tell me much about my '87 vanette

hi guys justgot a new car its a 87 vanette. it has A15 (with gx head, dont ask me why?) 4 speed colum shift and it seems to have a bigger diff centre than whats in my 1000. this also is an 8 seater. what diff centres do theese use? bluebird ones?
also what ratios because i wanna be able to cruise on 100km/h without reving the hell out of it. thanx

No worries, A15 is designed to rev at 4000 RPM all day long.

They are hell low ratio.
I put bigger wheels on my old van. It would still pull right of the clock with 15"s and non low profile tyres

Its all good, mine loves to rev... spinning around too

they do rev a bit at 100kmh but mine still does it with no worry's....

what diff ratio are they. i want to be able to drive at 100km/h without eating fuel and reving out the engine all day long?

would the A15 still hold up?

Mine has done many long trips... sits on 110 no worry's, but i agree about the fuel situation bit thursty... revs a lot..
i think there closer then 4:11 but not sure..
if anyone could shed some light on a centre swap maby....?

i looked at the diff and it sort looks the same as a bluebird diff. are they the same type because i have a spare out of a trx

4.875?? kinda rings a bell. I think thats what mr_turbo put in his 1200. Its h165

Yep, 4.875 is the ratio. We use this at the STEEP hillclimbs! It came out of a Vanette.

Have a look on your vehicle id plate , will list a code for the Axle , you can work it all out from that ,, if its a C120 model its most like has a 4.11 H190 with the smaller axles (same size spines axles as a H165 )
