gentlemen,
spoke to someone in the racing game and he said he actually lost 2 kw however gained more torque with the throttles......... so hes back on the webbers now
is this possible or not
has any one ever fitted throttles on a race a14...... have u noticed any gain after the throttles or is it a waste of time on a small motor

Lots of torque is not possible without long intake runners, and webers don't allow this easily.
It is possible to add long runners to Webers with something like long velocity stacks, but 99 percent of people with Webers don't. Probably because there isn't a lot of room to do it without some bending of the tubes to clear the shock tower and such.
I still think someone should try it. And post pictures and results.

What is the reason you want to go throttle bodys?
Your car is already setup very good with the Webers. I doubt you will find much more gains on the 1/4 mile by changing to throttle bodys.

Something else.
Do you maybe know of people in Durbs that have jets or any other parts for Dellorto carbs?

we wanna tri some short circuit and carbs are a problem around sharp corners
and the carbs keep runing out of tune due to the high rev and vibration
with regards to the jets ill keep a look out for u

Well, in that case I think throttle bodys will be of help.
Did you try a type of surge tank yet?
What throttles are you thinking of?
Precision throttle bodys?
I will post something similar about Webers vs throttle bodys for you on the local VW website and hear what people have to say there.
