Myself and BigD were having a chat the other night about the best fuel to use here in oz.

I was just wondering what other people use and any good or bad experiences with different brands.

I have always gone with shell optimax and now the new v-power and have never had any real troubles until just recently. I noticed in the last week since i've had my twin webber a14 put in that when the tank is starting to get low that i start to blow a little bit of smoke when revving hard. I thought at first it may be just the engine itself but it only seems to happen when my fuel tank starts to get low.

So now i'm thinking of giving something else a go.

Ive heard that BP ultimate is pretty good. I've also heard that mobil and caltex are poo but never really noticed them to be all that bad. I would never go near those dodgy independant ones anyways but was just wondering what people find the best stuff to use.

Yep I use BP98 in my A15 and my CA18.

Sunoco leaded HCR PLUS 114 octane although i'm in the US

until recently we didn't get optimax here, but i had a huge problem with the premium shell fuel, where i had to drain my tank and flush the lines as it was terrible, and wouldn't run...

My vote is BP98 i have never had a problem with it and noticed a difference as soon as i switched to it.
that was when it first went on the market and not a problem since. i use it in both dattos and my bike.

yep bp98 for me, ran it in my ca 1200 and now in my sr 1600. Most motorbikers have stories of their bikes running like absolute crap on optimax, and won't even touch it.

Another vote for BP Ultimate.

I ussually go for 95 octane from Bp or Shell, never anything less since I started getting more into the tuning and setting up thing with my car
