valve spring installation question

Is it possible to install the valve springs upside down? I have a GX head with the double valve springs.

If so, what are the consequences of having them installed improperly?

If it doesn't make a difference then I will have a few more questions! :)

It's usually only tapered springs that are designed to go in one way.

Some valve springs have the coils closer together at one end & from memory, these go to the top.
[EDIT. Subject to correction by anybody who actually knows for sure.]

If they are equally spaced then it doesn't matter.Quote:

close coils ALWAYS go against cyl head
mini too short same as 1.6 ford
crow 4028 good single for a series

Yeah, I just installed double valve springs & the tight end goes down!
But, being just a spring, it would not matter anyway. the same spring rate will still apply, I am pretty sure.
