started with a 1200 ute about 4 years ago and has been my daily drive since then.
1 year later i brought a a12 used long motor and a used a12t j pipe set up with 4 speed box.
weekend just gone i picked up a 120y just out of rego runs real well (better then my ute) a worked a14 with weber and extractors, strengthened 4 speed box, spare diff that has sigma parts in it (not sure what tho) a set of 120y struts with disks, 3 sets of rims with tyres plus more parts eg starter motor dizzy and more...
will add pics when i get all the parts in one spot

You have started a good beginning. Now you have a Datsun to drive while working on the other. Or maybe you have caught the dd (datsun daily driver disease).

The term strengthened box probably means the parts have been shot peened.

I wonder how much more strength one'd expect to achieve from shot peening.

Now i know i'm a cynic, but a strengthened gearbox! I suspect this is Gold Coast speak for"external bolts been tightened"i should know, unfortunatly i live on the Goldie too and know that everything is bigger, better, worth more,etc.etc.and that it is also the B.S. capital of Oz.

I look forward to being wrong.

It could just be a sunny smoothcase, as I understand they are a bit stronger?

i belive like datto100wagon said the gearbox has a different gearset, there was so much to look at i should have writen down what he said has been worked. all items brought on the weekend were got from a fellow Datsun lover and a friend of my bro's so will be picking his brain as to what has been done to what.

was told the a14 revs to 8000rpm

can't wait to get it all and start putting it in the ute

haha, nice joining of a renault 12 manifold to the datsun ports. These carbies are a great fit on the a12, I put one on and didn't even have to adjust the low speed airscrew!Quote:
