I love the spring retainers on this head they look like they'd keep the springs in good stationary order.

Where is the number? Stamped or cast.

That water galley would simply be blocked with deposit.

the number is in between the first 2 valves look hard enough and you will see it looks to be a 61X you cant see the last number
3 of the holes are open they wouldnt block just one of them

I think it is a GX-type head (A12GX or A12T or A14T).

I think no other heads came with large water holes. Regular A14 heads come with three small holes and smaller ports.

This is the same head I sold on my a14 rebuild a couple of years ago.
The ports are huge on this thing and suspect there is nothing down
low but plenty up high which could reverse with boost.

it is no gx head i assure you
the number and three water ports shows this
the head has had quite some extensive porting as you can see!!

Brent I wasn't talking about intentionally blocking them. It'd be a very strange arrangement to have an odd number of water galleys particularly when you are looking to keep everything cooled properly and evenly. I was talking about accumulated debris in the last water galley due to running a manifold like this without properly tapping and blocking the holes.

It does have a number there. Top sight. To me it looks like ' '89? isn't H89 a head number? Rings a bell.

Edit: Here is a picture of a three hole'd (water galleys) head that also looks like it has H89l (L or ONE) stamped on it. You may be right Brent! I'm sceptical though.

So which heads came with water galleys leading to the manifold? The GX's had bigger water galleys (like the one we are talking about) but the reference image I put above shows tiny holes.

I have asked the seller for some bigger pictures.

This is my head and from memory it was a H75.
