hi guys

just wanted to know how essential the dust cover that goes over the 'throwout arm' on the gearbox bellhousing is

just recieved my 5 speed and there wasnt one with it
had a look at wreckers but the one there was literaly disintegrated

also looked at many diferent models but they all use a diferent stystem

does anyone know of any alternatives?
or ones from diferent model cars?

after my tailshaft gets here its good bye auto and hello 5 speed!

oh and apparently the 'pin' on the bottom of the gearstick where it pivots is diferent between 56 and 60 series gearboxs, i managed to adapt one from a 120y to the 5 speed and it works well if anyone needs info let me know

many thanks
Jason

You mean the clutch lever dust cover? Not essential. Keeps the dust out. Like insurance... it's a good thing but you may never need it.

The gearshift lever pin comes in two kinds:
* Threaded pin, retanied by a nut
* C-clip pin, retained by C-clip (or E-clip)

Open in new window

Tech: pictures and part numbers
They interchange with each other as long as you have a matching pin and retainer.
