Happy Father's Day.
Another good burnout picture.
Received the Weber 38's in the mail yesterday. Will be working on those a little bit today.

Well that didn't take long. Now the tuning process starts all over again. These carbs should be easier. Already have them at a good idle.

Well I'm not sure what happened but I thought I had these carbs dialed in after running a little test and tunes on the back road around my house.
Took the car to the track Sunday and had major fuel flooding issues. Only got two runs in with a good time of 6.34 but was having issues off the starts.
I would say my mistake was ordering a new fuel pressure regulator that regulates between 4.5-9 psi. The 4.5 psi was a little to much for the Weber 38's. I should have been thinking more on the fly and fixed the problem but I just took the car home. After getting home, I took the spring out of the regulator and snipped a full ring out of the cone shaped spring, reshapped the spring and was able to dial in 3 psi. Carbs are running a lot better. Now I just have to wait 2 more weeks for the next race.
Now after running out of gas yesterday and being stranded on the side of the road until my girlfriend could bring me gas, I'm now trying to decide if I want to spend $130 on a computer that converts gas gauge ohms to dissimiler fuel tank sending unit ohms.

FuelLink SN34

Currently I have a 240/33 gauge and a 0/90 sending unit. Cheaper option is to just get a new sender but I don't feel like dealing with the tank.
Just another project.
Well I know now the car gets about 12 mpg.

If you put 33ohms in line with the sender at least you'll know when it's at each extreme, you just won't get the full range on the gauge.

Thanks.
I had previously tried resistor. I think I'll give it another shot today since I have nothing else to do.

Well it was cheaper and easier to just buy a new gauge.

Thanks Dave. I have mostly all Sunpro gauges because I like the look, they work and are inexpensive. Was able to fine a VDO gauge on Summit Racing that's the same black with orange/red look. Should be here today. Summits always been quick with shipping. Next race is August 14th. I should be ready by then.

Was out the other day and stopped by a friend's house. Of course the car is running good but that's because I'm not at the track.
Will be out there Sunday to give these Weber 38's another shot.
