Think that job was more than days, try weeks! He bought the car in May and posted in Sept after working most weekends..

I think I would just buy a new car

Yeah he talks about preparing a surface the weekend before. I got the impression his took a couple of months maybe six weeks.

I don't think you've gone that far before datski.... unless you do it for a living.

Imagine if it got splashed by a car passing through a mud puddle, you'd be devastated. And to think of the costs of having all that cleaning equipment at the ready, there are hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of chemical there.

He mentions chemical guys products, nuff said. I've got them on my facebook and it's pretty interesting to see the results people post up.

edit: ok he uses a mix of products but my observations still stand

Oh ok. So what would a full detailing of a family sedan usually cost, or what would you charge? Did you do the little paint repair jobby to the stone chips like this bloke did?

I have a few very small chips on the lower part of just outside of my door where the stupid seat-belt comes flinging out when you take it off (partial fault of the driver/me). I wonder if it could be repaired the way he did it.

yes it can be done and i have done it before...if you get the paint marker from the manufacturer....but you have to wait a few day for it to dry or put heat lamps on like i do and then use a compound to polish it up flat. Not to hard to do and comes up a treat. Depending on how far they want to go is what i will charge...for my mates i will do it for them for 200 bucks a weekend only cause they are poor uni students but mainly for a 3 day clean would be about 500 bucks or so, but just a normal clean and polish that i can do in a day without going crazy will cost around 200
