K so I've got an a14 in my dato Ute, dad reckons it has a governor on the motor, how do I take it off, is it worth doing? I know about the added pollution I don't care about that lol

Never heard of a governor unless it is an ex forklift motor?

Can only be in the dizzy or carb I would think?

pretty sure that the only way an a series "governs" (i use that term loosly) is that it either
runs out of fuel/air mix
dizzy breaks down at high rpm

The engine doesent have a governer a such, just engine limitations.

One the two forklifts i have looked at (both had toytoa engines) they just had a throttle screw to set the engine speed. i guess you could call that a goverener of sorts.

Lawnmowers have governors. Take them off or disable them and they're a lot more revvy, a fella i used to know raced them
