Well there you go! Cheers benny I hadn't ever heard of these.

Regarding the pump springs are these the springs that sit behind the facet pump diaphragm? or the springs that sit within the pump-rod/piston?

They are the springs that sit inside the pump rod /piston assembly for Weber. For dellorto it would be the spring under the diaphragm.

Weber and dellorto have evolutions of there progression holes. e.g 45 dcoe 13's are different to 45 dcoe 52's or 52G's for that matter

I'm confused, are you talking about the plug in the picture below? If so these are the later type of Weber where the aux venturi sleeve and choke collar are secured via the small lugs and ram tubes that bolt to the front of the carburetor.

thats what I was referring to - if they'd been a plug into the venturi chamber I'd think one could use it for a vac advance port. My DCOE only has the plugs in it so I was curious. I guess the newer DCOE's actually have a vac port on them somewhere for that purpose.

here's a pic of the accel pump in my DCOE - you can see the spring under the brass cap that benny is referring to..

Almost, but no, under that cap in your fingers is a small weight which assists to serve the ball valve (small ball bearing).

The spring benny is talking about is just visible beneath the pump rod retaining plate (to the right of the cap that you are holding).

Your other option is to plumb the vacuum feed from the manifold.

my lack of clarity - the pic was meant to show the accel pump to the right of my giant finger - that just happened to be the closest pic I had which was to remind me where the ball went

always good to have pic's for reassembly & I used em too!

Piper Cross and ITG both make those filters (there are a few others also).
