wow http://classicmotorsports.net/articles/supercharging-your-mgbPower went from 68 rwhp to 101 with the MGB. This is an Eaton M45 supercharger, but what nice packaging. Could we do similar for the A12? M45 can be found on the Mercedes, Jaguar, Ford and GM cars. datsa73 ran on his A15 the larger Eaton M62 unit from CLK230 Mercedes.

just in case you need to repaint the engine bay a backfire valve like that will have concentrated air and fuel onto the hot exhaust manifold :)
looks good though!
Im going to make the same kind of spring, washer, nylon nut all surrounded by a tube with a pipe straight out to the road underneath or out to the front wheel well.

So the Anti-backfire valve is designed for blow-through, right? Using it as above is a kind of mistake?
D, you are planning on using the AMR500, can it be setup like this integrated with a manifold and SU?

Im using a custom manifold I should finish it soon, it will have the manifold, amr500 and su all inline and angled 15 or 20 degrees to avoid puddling and consequently backfiring

most superchargers have a pop off valve otherwise the backfire can turn from deflagration (a quick but controlled burn, just like normal engine combustion, and even in a firearm) - as pressures spike, into a full strength 'detonation' (a much more rapid and violent burn that will do significant damage)
FWIW there's been similar options (albeit with lysholm type compressors) to supercharge the mini a-series and bmc b series engines - done by 'link automotive' and 'hi performance products' (who are in the same street - thornton crescent in mitcham - or were the last time I looked)
They were around $5-6000 in the late 90's - no idea their price now. That was a full kit - charger, pulleys/tensioner/belt, intake manifold and SU carb (hif type iirc)

I'm sure the pop-off valve could be modified to go to an external pipe without too much trouble. man 6 grand for a kit? I'mn just imagining that you could afford a good turbo setup and then have a few grand left over to build the engine for that. I suppose if you've got the money and you want S/C bad enough then go ahead and do it ;)
