Hey guys, about to swap a 16v 4age into my b310 sunny

Just wondering who here has a 4age datsun and what you wish you did/are going to do

Mine will have twin 40s, motor is fairly stock otherwise and has just been pulled from a running car, im debating whether to leave it stock or build it..

Chasing a good angry street motor but open to opinions! Don't want to be a slug, car will be a fairly frequent driver and be seeing lots of hills and turns 😝

All input and experiences appreciated! Cheers

i don't personally have a 4age swapped in but i can help advise what to do weather leave it stock or build it.

big thing is ask every single question you can and learn as much as you can before you jam it in there so you don't end up blowing more money and not understanding it all.

next thing is get all you need to put it in at once and make a big stab at it, it will help with motivation having it all there verse waiting for parts weeks and weeks

The answer is quite simple from having my car off the road for so long and you snowball into changing everything and anything you can along the way, the best advise i can say is leave it stock and get it in the car working and on the road

or unless you have some nice deep pockets and want to throw an easy $5-6k or easily more into rebuilding and making the engine an angry street motor I'm pretty sure you like the rest of us want to drive the car the money you will save just by putting it in and enjoying the engine for what it is will have it on the road a lot faster and more time behind the wheel, there is no reason at all you cant build it into an angry street motor later down the track but I'm pretty sure you would rather be out driving it, a stock 4age in a 1200 is damn fun and will give you all the joys you need then be silly with it when you have the savings

do you plan on road use as webers is difficult to engineer with pollution motors
are you already set on the motor?

its funny how corolla peeps often move up to the Nissan ca18de
Plenty of suzukis sierras also use the ca16de and ca18de
while some sunny guys want to use the 4age :}
corollas with both engines relatively stock to mild often
end up with the ca18 as the winner due to torque.

Cheers guys, I'll make he crossmembers up get the motor in and go from there..

It has to come back out for engine bay paint etc

As for the carby thing, yep I'm pretty set on the 4age, I'm fairly confident my guy will engineer it, if not itbs will be happening I think

I wanted to stay na for simplicity, if I go charged it'll be down the track
