as topic states above. has anyone had a perspex front windscreen. i have a drag 1200 ute and looking to get one made. my car doesnt have a windscreen at all and i need a template for it. can anyone help out

here's a complementary question for that. You know in nascar and stuff where they have the retainer bars on the windscreen would you need a couple of those as well?

Dragg guys dont use them, I think in nascar its just because of the high likelyhood of larg debris at high speed

I would recommend you just get a windscreen.
Surely one of the SE QLD fellas has one. Otherwise, don't 'windscreen o'brians' still supply them?

they do use them in drag racing. ive never seen a nascar datsun ute. ben bray has one on his datsun ute

i wouldn't use acrylic (perspex) i would recommend polycarbonate (lexan)

I wouldn't use perspex/lexan/polycarb on a front screen
They are bastards to keep clean and any dust or crazing that they get will effect your vision
Especially if you drag at night

Stick with a glass screen ... your not really saving much effective weight and your buying yourself trouble

I looked into it with my 1000 racecar... glass is the way to go

New laminated glass windscreen cost $200 plus $50 to fit both front and rear glass in my car.

i have got a windscreen now. also got a poly carb rear window made. had to with the back as the cage comes out the back window. front windscreen fitted was $200. and rear poly carb/lexen window was $55. this was easy fitted with the standard window rubber.
