this is just a myth but I drilled holes in the side of the air cleaner and it seems to make the car idole better!

On cars with heated air cleaners (some datsun 1200s), this will help -- if the intake is stuck on hot air. But it's not really a fix, it's a band-aid. The better way is to fix the hot/cold intake controller.

Burke, it looks like this engine doesn't have a hot-air intake air cleaner. Those are pointed the other way.
