In the magazine they talk about this place, they got the idea to photograph the two cars in front of a Japanese nursery, so they headed over to West LA's Sawtelle neighborhood, a community with many Japanese-Americans. They stopped at "the first" nursery they came to, Hankawa's S&M Nursery. Unfortunately a shopping mall was built over the nursery grounds in the 1980's (Sawtelle Place mall).

But the Datsun 1200 lives on...

I hate to admit it,but both these little cars gave the world auto industry the good shake up it needed back then...how many Morris's and Vaxhall Vivas where sold once this happened?
