H165 & H190 has to do with the size of the differential center assembly, not the width of the rear axle assembly. Remember that H190s were used in both narrow and wide cars.

the C20 Vanette H190 is supposed to be about 4" wider though...

Vanette H165 housing is 90mm wider than STD 1200 track [H145].

My bluebird mk1 1967 diff looks like this vanette diff? As narrow too with the small axles...

Yes that is Morgans LSD and yes the H190 is wider. Optical illusion courtesy of the camera.

that is an optical illusion! H165 looks bigger in pic but is definitely not.

itching to get the coupe going now, wont be long!!! hope the diff makes a big difference! pics later hopefully.

hey wayne any news on the fibreglass front?

Count tyhe centre mount bolts.
H165 = 8 bolts.
H190 = 10 bolts.
Looks like two H165's to me
(Edit) Maybe not as I can count 6 bolts from the top
