When i was rebuilding my A12 stroker i found that there is two different casting one is about 1.5 kg lighter. i have posted a pic of my old crank and the new one which i have also polished.

 Re: A14 Cranks
Looks like someone 'knife-edge' the crankshaft -- rather than a separate forging.

Take a regular crank, grind down the counterweights, then rebalance with heavy metal slugs (looks like one is visible on the bottom counterweight)

 Re: A14 Cranks
This picture sent me scurrying into the other bedroom to check which crank i have. I was pleased to find that it is the same as the polished one, although the heavier one LOOKS sturdier. If you haven't broken the light one in competition use, then it will serve in my car just fine.

Thanks for the info.
Out of curiosity, what rods are you using?

I am now using Mitsubishi Mirage pistons so i only need to resize the standard A12 rods to suit 18mm Pin instead of the 20mm pin used by the last Mazda E5 piston. also the skirt on the mitsubishi piston dosen't hit the crank for the stroker setup. and you only need to take .015" of the top of the piston and you have flat tops

As you may already know, i am using A15 [+1mm] pistons because they are the right bore size & have a lower deck height, & I am using A12A rods. The crank was trimmed a couple of millimeters in a lathe to clear the bottom of the pistons. This will work just fine for a street engine.

I suspect not, unless you order custom forgings.
I get a compression ratio that is close to 9.4 to 1 with the stock dished pistons & this is nice & pump-fuel friendly, so it will do for me.
