Re: 1200 rallycar rear ended photos
Like Dats-hot wrote, it probably is fixable, if one can find a suitable body man & if one has enough money.
The damage to the left front of my coupe was worse, but there was no other damage to the body, & it has been repaired, but the price paid so far is over five & a half times what I paid for the car, although that cost has bought a lot more than just a basic repair.
Try not to toss the shell when you strip it untill you are able to evaluate it fully. With a few donor parts it may yet be saved at some future time

Re: 1200 rallycar rear ended photos
in the top left you can sort of see that the side inner panel is folded up, the left end of the radiator support is also bent, and the passenger guard pushed back in behing the passenger door... the boot floor is folded up as with the rear quarter inner panel on one side.... obviously the bonnet is bent but all lights survived and the grill only cracked in one place... weird how the damage is severe in some places but so minimal in others...

It looks to be repairable like you say, and it probably is, but it boils down to economics.
Back in the seventies when it was worth a lot more on the used car market, and repair parts were readily available, it would have been fixed.
It's all a matter of how much one is willing, or can afford, to pay to do a proper repair.

if it aint rusty, pull it straight.
You need a chainblock, a welder and patience. my 1200 had far worse on more than one occasion and ended up just fine

Re: 1200 rallycar rear ended photos
it has rusty sills, but good floors and stuff
it could be fixed (i dont think it's worth it as it's a manual tunnel), im not going to do it, if someone else wants to they can talk to me about it

send me a pm _steve_, make an offer, i already offered the roof to a mate, but im sure he wont mind me selling it if im getting decent money for it
