Good to hear that the super charger is alive and well. All the late model tubo cars on the road make me sick. I am very new to this most salubrious club, (and indeed computers).What I am building is a 1200 sedan with a blown a14. I am using a blower of a toyota 2L V6 soarer. When I compared it to my mates 1600/MR2 one, mine is a bigger unit. I got a cam ground to suit, and its only just driveable in traffic. Using a steel shim the compression is down to 7.9to1.
All the mounting brackets and manifolding has been custom fabricated. Presently the motor is only runny a standard hatachi carb with bigger jets. (I wanted to break in the cam and retork the head with out trying to tune an experemental set up ) All the parts ,pulleys tentioners and manifolds are made, my only dely in assembly is that I need to install some kind of backfire protection.

The SA DESIGN guide to street supercharging states that backfires can damage a blower .So Ill start with a richer mixture and less advance, oh by the way Im running carburation with suck through.

I was wondering if perhaps BLOWN1400 or B110SSS could share with me what their setups used.

ANOTHER TRICK IS TO RUN THE WIRES THROUGH THE FIREWALL TO A SWITCH. YOU CAN SCARE OFF TAILGATERS BY FLASHING YOUR BACK UP LIGHT AT THEM

MATE GO FOR THE DOG LEG FIVE SPEED OUY OF A 310 SUNNY. THEESE ARE PRETTY STRONG AND BOLT STRAIGHT UP TO THE MOTOR. ALL YOU WILL HAVE TO DO IS FABRICATE A NEW GAERBOX CROSSMEMBER.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE BEST WAY TO GO ELECTRONIC IGNITION FOR AN A ENGINE? IS THERE ONE THAT WILL BOLT STRAIGHT IN? IF SO WHAT MODEL/YEAR COULD I GET ONE FROM? I HAVE ACCESS TO A MACHINE SHOP SO IF YOU HAVE EVER MADE ONE UP OUT OF TWO DIZZYS PLEASE TELL WHAT YOU USED & HOW YOU GOT ON . ANY ADVISE GREATLY APREACIATED.

DONT BE A GIRL. CERTIFICATION WASTES MONEY BETTER SPENT ON RADICAL ENGINE MODS . JUST GRIND OFF THE BIT WHERE IT SAYS A15. THEN RESTAMP IT WITH A12. WHOS GONNA KNOW? UNLESS YOU MEASURE THEM WITH A TAPE (AND KNOW THE DIFFERENCE) THE MOTORS LOOK THE SAME. I KNOW WHAT ID DO.
