Hi all,

Well I finally got my 1200 coupe that I have been after for aaages ... I bought it from a guy who had done a HEAP of work getting it restored and up to a pretty high standard. There's really nothing left to do except driveline - it will be recieving a CA18DET in the (hopefully not to distant) future.

For anyone who is interested, specs are as follows...

Year: 1971

Engine Hardware: Fully rebuilt A15

Engine Accessories: new 1 3/4" exhaust, chrome tip, all new leads & coil, reconditioned distributor

Induction System: E15/E16 carby with auto choke

Transmission - Driveline: Reconditioned Jatco 3-speed automatic gearbox, standard tailshaft and diff

Brakes: Stanza front struts shortened 40mm, Stanza discs and calipers, standard rear drums, Stanza master cylinder, Mitsubishi Lancer brake booster

Suspension: Stanza lower control arms, Toyota Celica Gabrielle gas shockies front, all new wheel cylinders, piston seals, shoes, 1" lowering block on rear leaf springs, all new neoprene bushes, tie rod ends and ball joints.

Wheels: 15" TRX rims, 195/50/15 new tyres, plus new spare

Bodywork and Paint: bare metal respray acrylic paint (medium blue - KC14), mostly debadged, all new rubbers, laminated windscreens, new door locks and ignition switch, bumpers painted in hammertone silver/grey

Interior Gadgetry: Mazda 121 front seats, rear seats re-upholstered to match, Autoteknica steering wheel, new carpet, doors cards, hoodlining, recovered dash. CD player with 4 speakers.

Pics are available on www.turbophile.com or here...

I should think so looks and sounds like a great little number. Lots of driving pleasure in that for quite a few years.

Charlotte,

Great work, it looks very nice. It's so good to see a well trimmed interior. And the underneath looks great.

A CA18 is a good idea. But that looks like it'd be fun just the way it is for a while.

It's good to see that your tastes in cars is improving Those silly 1600s are just far too common

Regards,
Chris

it took me till now to find the bit on turbophile about it, looks good, the interior is similar to what i was picturing for mine, except i want to do the top of the dash blue and gauge face silver, it looks good in there and has inspired me to hurry up and do mine

[edit] do you run turbophile???, i want to submit my car as a feature one day, if its good enough
